House Silves

SILVES, ALGARVE, PORTUGAL

2 BR | 2 BA | SLEEPS 4

Inhabiting an ancient neighborhood, this beautifully curious home makes a bold and dramatic statement on the skyline. Inspired by the Moorish and Arabic influences of the region, it unites the architectural standards of the past with the present.

Located in the center of the old city of Silves, this contemporary villa reflects its historical surroundings with echoes of its Moorish past while remaining firmly modern. The whitewashed exteriors resemble in scale and design the Islamic aesthetic and concept of privacy and self-containment while still enjoying amazing views of the city.

Designed by studioarte with interiors by Janneke de Bruijn at Lusco Fusco, the house is bright throughout and unfolds organically with everyday comforts and dynamic design. Furnished with local Portuguese art and design pieces, the interiors are light and fresh.

With two bedrooms over two floors, the house can accommodate up to four guests each with en-suite baths. A blend of simple comforts and sometimes edgy vintage modern design gives this house contemporary urban character.

The full kitchen and stunning lightbox lounge area are perfect for entertaining inside or above on the second-floor terrace equipped with sun loungers and an outdoor kitchen.
