The nearby village of Livadia charming and traditional, located along the seaside route of the European E4 hiking path. The historic old port town of Chania with its Venetian harbor, seaside palaces and busy resorts is about an hour’s drive, and the medieval archeological heritage village of Maroulas is situated just a few miles from the Venetian harbor town of Rethymno along the scenic northern coastline.
